I'm a creative individual with a knack for sales and connectivity. Finally utilizing my fashion degree on some level.
I currently make the coin by working in a luxury optical shop where I get to speak in high fashion lingo but also help others with their eyewear needs. I've had to reload what it is to be me in a new age in DC where the young seem to lead and I'm now almost approaching 40! I had taken a few years off prior to care for my son when he was younger, and in doing so I was able to be a better cook and home maker, but it was also during this time that I had a lot of time to reflect. I had to do something as every female around me seemed to be working and striving for their goals. I finally had the will to stand up and say no more to my fears and marital upset.... I finally had the gall to leave and do my own thing, for a time I was content that I found my way back to the working world, but my desire for my own freedom has cost me in a sense my full time sense of mommyhood. I am my teens mama and always there if he needs me, but the distance sometimes hurts. I have had to relearn how to be an independent female since I now no longer depend solely on a male, and though I have found it rough since I was living a much sheltered existence, my hope is that I will be able to make my own legacy for my son and myself. I also hope that one day I can write about my many adventures as a married, then separated, then single woman with lovely stories and sad ones in between because I strongly believe that woman grow more not only through experience, but by reading others similar accounts. It sheds hope for us. I'm thankful for where I am today, and wish nothing but to be a better person day in day out.
