Hena is a children's author and a communications specialist working in international public health. She has written several award winning books, including three picture books that introduce Muslim culture and traditions to a general audience. Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns is an American Library Association Notable Book, and Night of the Moon is a Booklist Top 10 Religion Book for Youth. Hena has worked for and consulted with several international organizations, including the Population Council and UNICEF, and she is currently a communications manager at Management Sciences for Health, a non-profit focused on improving global maternal, child, newborn and adolescent health.
